It is often your customer’s first impression therefore, it is important to create an area that is cohesive with your company vision and has that special “wow” factor.  Choose decorations and furniture wisely to create a warm and inviting atmosphere but still maintaining a professional tone.

Select colours that create a warm, inviting area that reflect your branding. If your company colours are too overwhelming or have negative emotional connotations when used in larger spaces, consider using them as accents on a more neutral palate. Areas to accent include chairs, pot plants, cushions and decorative pieces like a vase, art prints or cups.

Add that personal touch……

Show how much you value your customer by providing little extras – pitchers of fresh water or coffee, a bowl of M&M’s,  or freshly baked cookies can tame a cranky client. Other extras can include free Wi-Fi, music, magazines, notepaper and pens for people to record notes and to-do lists while they wait.

Green and Blue – Walls painted with these colours can create feelings of calm and relaxation in employees.

Yellow and Orange – These colours, associated with the sun, make a person feel warm and happy.

Red – This colour can stimulate and excite employees. It can increase respiration, heart rate and brain activity.

White – Another highly reflective colour, white can be a cause of eyestrain.

There are countless ways to set up your office space.  Since we spend the majority of our day at work, its important to consider how that environment will effect  mood and productivity.

Here are 4 colours that you can use to great effect to project your business’ personality & stimulate the kind of productivity you want to achieve in your office.

1. Yellow stimulates creativity, clarity of thought and mental activity.  Love this yellow hot desk solution.

2. Red is a strong colour so great for those selling or making deals.  A student breakout area could benefit from such a stimulating splash of colour too.

3. Blue/Green can be soothing so great choice for writers.  Or to encourage collaboration in a boardroom.

4. Orange encourages socialisation – great for a small office using a team approach to management.  Great Eames inspired chrome & orange office chair.
